The easy way to get to Paraty from Rio de Janeiro! You will be picked up from the door of accommodation in Rio de Janeiro and driven in a 10 seat van to your accommodation in Paraty.

Notes:
1) pick-ups from the airport, Barra da Tijuca, and accommodation located out of the tourist areas of Rio are not included in these transfers, and you will be asked to meet the van in a more central area.

2) You will be changing vans half way into this trip before continuing onto Paraty.

Rio de Janiero to Paraty Van Transfer

1st Departure

Between 07:00am and 08:00am you can be picked-up from Laranjeiras, Botafogo, Catete, Flamengo, Gloria, Lapa, Santa Teresa, and downtown áreas.

Between 07:30am and 08:30am you can be picked-up from Copacabana, Leme, Urca.

Between the designated pick-up times of 08:00am and 09:00am you will be collected from your accommodation in Rio if you are staying in the areas of: Leblon, and Ipanema.

2nd Departure

Between 10:30am and 11:30am you can be picked-up from Copacabana, Laranjeiras, Botafogo, Urca, Catete, Flamengo, Gloria, Lapa, Santa Teresa, downtown áreas and Leme.

Between the designated pick-up times of 11:00 am and 12:00 midday you will be collected from your accommodation in Rio if you are staying in the areas of: Leblon, Ipanema.

If you are staying outside of these areas we will provide you with meeting points in Leblon, Ipanema and Lapa where the van can swing by to collect you.

Important to know about the transfer from Rio to Paraty!

This transfer is made up of two shorter transfers, the first which picks people up and drops them off at the boat to Ilha Grande which departs from Concepcao do Jacarei. You then change to the van which picks up the people coming from Ilha Grande who are continuing to Paraty. It is important to note there may be some waiting around for the boat coming from Ilha Grande to pick-up the passengers continuing to Paraty with you.

On the transfer between Rio and the docks to Ilha Grande you stop on the way where you can use rest rooms and eat something. You then have another stop on the way to Paraty.

Where can you be dropped off on the transfer coming from Rio?

The driver can drop you off at your accommodation if it is in a central area of the township of Paraty or if you are staying at the neighboring beach of Jabaquara. Please note there are some streets with-in the historic centre where vans are not permitted to enter and you may be required to walk a bit to get to your lodging.

For all other areas around Paraty you can be dropped at the local bus terminal which is serviced by local buses and taxis. If your final destination is Trinidad then they have hourly buses to take you the 40 minutes there.
