Holy guacamole with more than a hint of moly!!!

Holy guacamole with more than a hint of moly!!!

Situated right on the borders of Brazil and Argentina. Just up the road from Paraguay. Higher than Niagara with more water than Victoria. This was no joke. Shortlisted for the new 7 wonders of the world. Can see why!!! Holy guacamole with more than a hint of moly!!! 275 falls in a 3k radius. HHHHUUUUUUGEE!!! WOWEE with a touch of GEE!!

On the Argie side the lead up is a 1k raised platform over a flowing but dead flat river.

The spine tingled. I had heard amazing things and I was close. Real close.

AS I breached a clump of bushes the devil opened his mouth.
Before me was a U shaped ledge of about 300 metres around. Dead flat at the top but ranging from  a series of water chutes cut only by rocks forming what looked like storm water flow to a GIANT, deafening, mammoth flow of water that tumbled with such fury that the bottom was invisible due to a constantly gushing cloud of spray that billowed out the top. The big boy must have been 100 m across. On the other side of the U were delicate waterfalls that danced bwetween bushes and fell like fairies into the abyss. The devils tummy tum tums.

The U nearly completed itself into a circle, or so it seemed, to give the impression of a giant hole in the earth that fell to the core..

A vortex that would take the earth with it eventually. Huge Hole!

I stood and drank in the might and beauty of it for a while.

I took off again.
Weaving in and around falls before leading to an open view of HUNDREDS!! of falls.
It seemed the world was made of waterfalls as they poked out of every nook and cranny I could see. Some almost played a 3d mind game as they seemed to defy gravity. Great curtains of water 1m thick and 50 metres long fell neatly and noisily to ledges below before taking paths between lush ferns and rocky outcrops and then falling further along into the river below.
Sheets.
Walls.
One fall was so enormous and so concentrated from being squeezed between rocks that it looked like a pipeline wave crashing into the water below. Spray flew a hundred metres into the air and outways as though someone had popped a cork.
Everywhere the eye could see was a waterfall. Big. Little. Dainty. Cumbersome. Projectile and beaten up by rock below. All set in a bright green landscape of ferns and trees and slimy rocks.
The world had sprung a leak!!!
The sheer scale of this thing!!
275 falls!!
3 km.
You couldnt design it any better in your head. MAGIC. MINDBLOWING.
BLOODY WATERFALLS EVERYWHERE!!
One of the coolest things Ive ever seen.

The lower circuit was another perspective altogether. Down at waterfall level it showed the true power of the water and the majesty of the intricacy of nature. Again weaving in and out of the falls on a metal board walk it was like we looking up at the floating lands off Avatar. The one that the fight takes place in the end. Some land appeared suspended by water. Dripping vegetation and rock.

Incredibly hard to take in. Surrounded by waterfalls that by themselves would be breathtaking ......275 of them!!!!!!

The next day I was off to Brazil. I had a few hours to kill so I went to the Brazillian side of the falls. WOOOHOOO.

Looking back on the falls was just as mindblowing. Km´s of falling water coming from what seemed like nowhere. Some landed on íslands and disapeared before ´resurfacing´in a random place and enjoying the jump of its life and continue on its journey.

I went down almost into the devils mouth. Water level.
Belted by spray so thick it was heavy rain. My pulse raced as the power and might became me. Truly humbling.

Who am I? If that has been there for 1000´s or more years, then it makes me seem insignificant!!

Chutes. Dripping with forest. The closer I got the more detail I discovered. Fascinating.
I was buzzing!
