Traveling in Bolivia is full of surprises and beautiful places. When you get a bus to Sucre, you can find out why it is called the White City as soon as you arrive. Its hundreds of white houses and beautiful colonial buildings make your visit to Sucre an awesome experience.
The city of Sucre was founded in 1540 and has been an important political and cultural city since the time of the Spanish colony. Today it is the constitutional capital of Bolivia, and has an important cultural life. Sucre has preserved its historical buildings, as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Square 25 of may, Guadalupe Virgin chapel, and many more. It has a magical view point called La Recoleta, where you can enjoy a striking view of Sucre.
You can also enjoy a great uncommon visit : just a few kilometers from Sucre there´s a fascinating place called Cal Orko, where there are more than 5000 dinosaur footprints in perfect condition. And If you like backpacking and nature, there´s a place called Siete Cascadas (Seven waterfalls) that has beautiful views of the falls and is ideal for a walk.
Sucre offers nice places when you´re traveling and backpacking in Bolivia. Long distance bus services are not as good as in Peru, but you can travel there easily from Potosi or La Paz. Inside Sucre you can walk easily to the main city attractions or you can take a bus or taxi if you prefer.
Sucre has also nice streets to walk and maybe buy some bargains. The city has also nice bars to go out and enjoy Bolivian night.
