The village of Copacabana is a stunning step in your visit to Bolivia and Peru, and you can easily get there by bus from La Paz or Puno. Located in the Bolivian shore of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, the amazing Copacabana will catch your heart and you won´t be able to leave easily. It has a nice Arms Square where you can visit its famous Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, where every year lots of pilgrims come to pray for the Virgin of Copacabana.
Traveling in Bolivia and Peru is just something you won´t forget, and backpacking is the best way to visit Copacabana. The village of Copacabana has excellent hostels to stay and lots of nice bars and restaurants. You can get really good Bolivian and Peruvian plates and you should try the lake trout. In the main street there are also lots of artisans that offer great things.
In the village you have nice walks nearby, but from Copacabana you can travel to the Islands of the Sun and the Moon. Usually, all trips include the Sun Island but not many have an extra charge for the Moon Island. They´re both incredible, though Sun Island is a little bigger and well prepared for you to stay. You can easily walk through the entire Sun island and visit the many ruins and spectacular views it has. You can stay overnight in Yumani, a small town in the southern part of the island.
Lake Titicaca is a magic place that enhances your emotions and makes your travel experience to Bolivia and Peru something unforgettable.
